UPDATE:
Motor and Trans are on the craddle and bolted into the car. Currently we have to reconnect the A/C compressor, the axles and to bolt back the suspension. Other things include reconnecting all the wiring, the hoses, add fluids and double check everything i suppose. All this is going to be finished HOPEFULLY by mid next week. I can't wait to get this thing back on the road. Once i get everything running i'll give her a bath and post a few more pics.
A few problems we ran into:
* Bolts for the Flywheel, hard to find. Unless you pull them out of an older vehicle, you won't get them at a parts house. I did, however; find them at the FieroStore. They are $4 for each bolt and you will need 6 of them. I thought i found a company in Rock Hill, SC that had some; but it ended up not being grade 8's or better. (It was only $1 for 6 bolts and 6 washers though!)
* The new water pump that i baught for the motor was a press on pulley...we didn't realize this until the motor was in the vehicle . So, instead of dropping the craddle we decided to put the old one back in seeing as there was nothing wrong with it.
* WE DIDN'T GET THE TIMING GEAR PUT ON THE NEW CAM BEFORE IT WENT IN THE MOTOR AND EVERYTHING PUT BACK TOGETHER. I advise you get this done BEFORE you reassymbal the intire motor. We beat on that thing forever with a rubber mallet; it finally went on and everything is good in the world. Also, along the lines of new cam; the cam thrust is a pain to get your hands on also. We got lucky and found a new one at McGraws Machine shop in Rock Hill and they sold it to me for $5. The only other one i found available was at a GM place in Ga...they wanted $15.
