http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ub ... er=2637078Very expensive engine to have worked on
custom wiring needed, not available here
3.8 Grand NationalPros:
Almost unlimited power
plenty of aftermarket support
bolts to most any FWD trans
Cons:
Starter is on the wrong side the block for the Fiero application
better get out your checkbook, hopping up this one will cost you plenty
custom wiring needed, not available here
3800sc2 I may be a little biased here but someone correct me if I'm wrongPros:
Plenty of OEM power
Plenty of aftermarket performance support
bolts to any FWD Trans (282, F23, 4T65eHD)
gets great gas mileage
reliable
wiring readily available via Drew (for a small fee of coarse)
Installation help from me (for a small fee of coarse)
Cons:
you want power you have to put money in it (that's with anything)
If you increase power here you will need axles that are a lot stronger
All the engines mentioned above are fuel injected and will most likely need fuel pump mods.
All of these need motor mounts, Exhaust and fuel line mods
There are other members here that can get you whatever you'd like. What I have listed is what I have access to in a short amount of time here in Jacksonville.
I don't know what year your car is so I cant say any of this will work for sure. If it is not an 88 than the transmission is not a Getrag/Munce 282, hell I'm not even sure on the 88 4cyl. The only manual trans that came in a Fiero from the factory that will hold any power is the 282 from the Fiero 2.8 V6
I hope that this helps, If you'd like to discuss this further feel free to PM me and we can meet up somewhere and I can help you weigh your options
