Just got back from Indy last night. Attended the 30th. It was great but I didn't win anything bet a couple door prizes. Go to Pennocks for pix. Look under the events section.

Hey Spirit!

Glad you were able to go and had a good time! You must have either made insane travel time, or didn't stay very long?

Trinten, It is only a little over 600 mi. and I am used to doing about 1000 a day. After we got through Knoxville the traffic was running 80-85 and sometimes 90 all the way to and from Indy. Weather was great going up but ran into heavy rain about 10 mi. from the hotel and terrible traffic. About 1 mi from the hotel it quit raining and the sun came out. You could hardly tell what color the car was for the road grime. Ellen and I washed the car and died it down and then it rained again. This was what happened all weekend. The trip back we ran into about 4 or 5 bad storms and had to slow down to about 30 to 40 mph. We got to Marion,NC and a SHP started trying to play with me trying to get me to speed BUT I didn't play his game. We left Indy about 10:30 and got home at 8 pm. Had a great time but was really tired tired from fighting traffic.

spirit-- some how we managed not to link up for that I am very sorry. I saw another NC plated car but never caught up to find out if it was you or an additional unknown.
It was a great time and outside of an occasional rain storm everyday was absolutely perfect, and the experience is unforgettable and only makes me want to attend the next one no matter what.

I wonder if I was the other NC plated car... Anyways, I had a very similar experience making great time until I ran into the rain. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm growing tired of the "liquid sunshine"

Hey Guys, my car is gold with a set-back wing and a kooky front end treatment. If this is what you saw it was me. Not to complain but I saw judges inspecting cars around me BUT my car was never judged. I was with the car all day and no judge ever came and looked at it. Maybe it was just too ugly. Makes me wonder that you had to be one of the "good-old boys" to win anything. I was kind of disappointed in that regard BUT all else was just great.

Yes, ALL cars in the show had to go through "clasifacation" in order to fin what class they were in. I was placed in"R". That was Modified level 4. Don,t know wht that ment or how they arrived at that.
